Conference Background:

The medical device industry in China has experienced a process of development from scratch and has left a significant mark in the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. During the period from 2000 to 2015, the medical reform policies stimulated the rapid growth of medium and low-end products and technologies. However, the high-value medical device market was dominated by imported products. Since 2015, policies to encourage innovation in medical devices have been introduced frequently, and innovative medical devices have emerged in large numbers like bamboo shoots after a spring rain, accelerating the process of domestic substitution. With the support and optimization of national policies, the continuous deepening of medical reform, the prominent issue of population aging, and the improvement of consumption capacity and health awareness, the medical device industry in China, especially the leading domestic medical device enterprises, has entered a golden period of development. However, with the continuous breakthroughs and progress of technology, the “high-end” nature of medical devices has a certain time limit. Enterprises need to continuously maintain product innovation to consolidate the market competitiveness of their products.

The future development trends of the medical device industry will be influenced by various factors such as technological progress, market demand, and regulatory policies. In the future, medical devices will become more intelligent, personalized, and efficient. Meanwhile, with the increase in healthcare needs and the intensification of population aging, the market demand for medical devices will continue to grow.
