A new focus of Covestro’s material developments are applications in medical textile coatings, for example in surgical clothing, mattress pads for hospitals, coatings for medical furniture and medical bandages. The company is presenting its raw materials for sustainable waterborne textile coatings that have good tactile properties and improved resistance to disinfectants at the Compamed trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany, from November 14 to 17. These materials are also suitable for latex-free elastic self-adhesive bandages and secondary fixing.
Covestro is additionally showcasing material solutions with thermoplastic polyurethane films and the high-performance plastic polycarbonate (PC) that fulfill the demands of both medical technology manufacturers and patients.
